EASUN and Uganda National NGO Forum (UNNGOF) collaboratively organized a training of NGO networks in Kampala, Uganda. This was the first in EASUN’s new strategy of collaborating closely with NGO networks, which jncludes training. The main theme of the workshop is governance for sustained collaboration and common purpose in networks. The training was designed to 1) strengthen skills in facilitating sustainable collaboration in networks; 2) strengthen application of leadership values that shape spaces for effective collaboration; 3) strengthen capacity of networks to function competently in the association phase of organizational development. The workshop was held in Kampala from 6-8 May 2014.

EASUN and UNNGOF are themselves role-modeling effective networking by opening up their institutional boundaries through this collaboration, thus applying values and leadership practices that will leverage their different core competencies to better serve CSOs in Uganda and the East African region. As noted by Alfred Nuwamanya of UNNGOF: "This is just the beginning."
