Transformative change is ultimately leveraged by the ability to handle resistance, not more information, resources or skills.
The training will introduce you to the field and discipline of OD (Organization Development), equip you with tools and process facilitation techniques, as well as leadership capacities for guiding transformative change in complex organizational and community situations.
FOLD training will also equip you with professional and leadership skills in facilitating learning and change for transforming leadership and organizational practices to ethical standards in organizations and communities.
Only twenty (20) places are available for each training cycle. The training runs in three modules. The next intake for cycle “U” will start with Module 1 from 23rd to 29th August 2015. Module II: from 23rd to 27th November 2015, and Module III is planned for March 2016. FOLD is a highly sought after training by NGO leaders and development consultants from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. It is also particularly suitable for Heads of organizations and senior programme staff in development organizations (CSOs). For maximum impact on your organizational learning we recommend two participants per organization.
FOLD is facilitated by OD consultants associated with EASUN, a professional OD consulting organization in East Africa. We are based in Arusha, Tanzania. Follow up practice development for trained individuals will expose you to some world famous OD consultants from the continent, Europe and North America.
EASUN and Uganda National NGO Forum (UNNGOF) collaboratively organized a training of NGO networks in Kampala, Uganda. This was the first in EASUN’s new strategy of collaborating closely with NGO networks, which jncludes training. The main theme of the workshop is governance for sustained collaboration and common purpose in networks. The training was designed to 1) strengthen skills in facilitating sustainable collaboration in networks; 2) strengthen application of leadership values that shape spaces for effective collaboration; 3) strengthen capacity of networks to function competently in the association phase of organizational development. The workshop was held in Kampala from 6-8 May 2014.
EASUN carried out its first training to equip women leaders with transformational skills, self-awareness and commitment to lead change for women's rights and empowerment in community and organizational contexts.
The training was carried out in collaborationwith UZIKWASA, a CBO and “learning site” for methodologies in facilitating transformation in grassroots communities. From 20th-22nd April, EASUN and UZIKWASA were in Sakura village, Pangani district of Tanzania, where they conducted the first training on "Transformational leadership for women's rights and empowerment". This is an activity supported by HIVOS and Bread for the World in collaboration with EASUN over a two year period, 2014-2015.
EASUN's FOLD (Facilitating Organizational Learning and Development) cycle "T" started with module 1 from
16 -22 March 2015, with 17 participants (6 women, 11 men). The training was held in Moshi, Tanzania. From an exercise on day 2 of the training, participants shared their discovery of how specific "listening skills” for leaders can lift-up the voices of all, women and men, thus positively transforming the consciousness with which the level of gender is managed in organizational life and their activities.
